Question : How can I keep my peace when my exams are going on? There is too much stress. I sometimes feel guilty of not doing good in the previous paper and then I can’t focus on preparing for the next paper also. How to overcome this?
Dear Teentalker,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concern
Here we give you few tips on how to beat stress during exams.
- Don’t feel guilty – When you feel guilty about not performing well in previous exam, that will affect your preparation for the next exam as well. What happened can’t be undone but you can definitely make rest of the exams better by preparing well.
- Make a list of why you should be studying now – Jot down all points on why you should be studying for your exams for e.g. “you should be studying because you want to get good marks”, “you should be studying so that you could get a good job” “you should be studying so that your parents could be happy”.
- Keep yourself away from social network. If you keep your phone switched off for the time you are studying and keep your social media off throughout your exams, you will feel less stressed. That is because you won’t be bothered about how much your friends have studied.
- When you are procrastinating tell yourself “ I shouldn’t be doing anything which could make me regret later ” . because when we score less, we always regret of wasting “those days” and not utilising the time properly.
