There is absolutely no doubt that bullying has adverse effects on the mind and the overall personality of the victim. However, there are certain things which can be done to feel less alone and overwhelmed when you are being bullied. Here are five tips that will come as handy to take care of yourself if you are being targeted by a bully.
You cannot control bullying. Though one thing that you can control is the way you look after yourself. Try to do something for yourself every day. It can be anything big or small, but it should be meant for you. This will definitely make you feel better.
2. Be active
Being active has immense benefits. Participate in any physical activity that releases endorphins, the hormone that gives you a rush of feeling good. You can join a dance class, join a sports club and be an active member of it.
3. Do things you love
It can be challenging to feel good when you’re not feeling your best. During such time, it is crucial that you connect with what you love doing the most. Think about the things which make you feel relaxed and happy, and then keep doing them repeatedly. It could be listening to music, watching your favourite sitcoms, etc.
4. Identify and improve your strengths
Whenever you feel low, focus on the things you’re good at, this will help you feel better about yourself. If you are unable to identify your strengths, you can ask your family member or a good friend who knows you well to do it for you.
