Question : I am engaged with a person who is currently working abroad. It’s been 8 months since our engagement he never posts our pictures on Facebook. He said that he won’t want to show his private life to the world. I am unable to understand why he can’t do this for my happiness. Please suggest to me what to do? Teentalker
Dear Teentalker,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concerns.
Respect is the most important thing in any relationship. Here is your situation he is respecting you as a person. I can understand that you will feel good if he posts the engagement pictures with you, but sometimes two people in a relationship have different likes and both of them should respect their partner’s choice. Every person has a different way of showing love. Your fiancé is motivating you to study and maybe this is his way of showing love towards you as he wants you to succeed in life. Don’t feel negative about things because unintentionally it will start reflecting on your behavior towards him or your loved ones. Things will get smooth when you start staying with that person because then you both will get more time to understand each other better.
There are few tips which will help you with your relationship –
– Talk to each other whenever you get time.
– Share your day to day routine, hobbies, fears, and even mistakes. It will help you creating a bond.
– Try to understand and accept each other opinions and choices.
– Be honest with each other
– Remember that letting goes things is practicable if it not against your morals and values.
– Try to be open with each other about each other’s feelings.
It is all about listening and speaking your heart out. Just think before you speak. Be polite enough to never hurt each other’s feelings. Trying out new things in a relationship will always help you understand each other better and make the relationship more effective.
