Question: I have a way to make things go wrong out of self-pity or whatever, but I always somehow find myself thinking about committing suicide or planning my way out. I don’t have friends to talk to. My family doesn’t listen at all. They think of it to be a lame attempt for attention. But it is too frequent I may do it.
Dear Teentalker,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concerns.
Instead of kicking yourself, underrating and being so much self-critical, stop for a while and evaluate your intrinsic resources and all the positives and have a glimpse of your other self. There are undiscovered, uncovered, untapped goodness and strengths that are waiting to be unleashed. Talk to yourself with encouraging good strong words to counter all negatives, repeat them feel them and visualize your future with images of success and happiness.
So change your views about yourself, you are not what you label yourself to be, you now have to discover and start the adventure. If things go wrong, So what? Learn what went wrong and think about what you must do to set it right. Failures and mistakes are great opportunities for learning. Thousands of people have prospered and turned down wrong decisions, mistakes and failures and they are great lessons for us.
To have friends, you have to be friendly and approachable, in fact, you can make friends by approaching them yourselves. You have to be assertive, develop a sense of humour and be a fun-loving person, and cooperative with people which will make you more approachable. Your family thinks you are an attention seeker. Please sit down and talk to them about how you feel and also understand what makes them think like this. Examine the facts, be frank with your appraisal of yourself, see the truth and then work on yourself by changing your behaviour, ways of communication, interactions and personality.
Hope this helps, if you have any other queries do connect online for a chat between 10 am-8 pm or drop us an offline message.
