Question: I am not a teenager but what do I do if I really don’t want to live?
Dear Teentalker,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern with us. We are here to support you and help you.
In life, one’s confidence, patience, and love are the most beautiful virtues that can be developed so if you have the most beautiful thing in the world with you then why hate life? I can help you cultivate these qualities though I am sure you will have them but are not aware now.
The only thing on which we have control is our choices. All negative thoughts come to us when we are at our weakest and/ or feel insecure. Sometimes in life, you are faced with situations when being strong is the only option. Identify the triggers, write it on a paper like how you feel or how you behave, and then throw it afterwards. This will cleanse your mind.
When we experience stress due to various reasons, it not only affects our physical health but also our emotional wellbeing. It can have a negative effect on our thinking, behaviour and studies. I can feel your frustration and helplessness and why it’s making you want to take such a drastic step. Take a deep breath, keep your head high and say yes I can, and I will change my life. Indulge in some meditation and Yoga exercises, make new friends, join some social clubs, pamper yourself by watching your favourite movie, visit a spa, eat your favourite food, etc.
We hope this helps, if you still have a query do Chat with us from 10 am-8 pm. (Mon-Sat) or drop us an offline message. In case the feeling still persists, do seek help from a therapist in a one-to-one session as it will benefit you in appreciating and enhancing the quality of your life.
Regards,
