Dear Teentalker,
Thanks for reaching out.
Complaining has been hard wired in us as humans, it is natural tendency for us to simply vent and go on ranting about our day. We always feel the need to vent; bring it all out and express ourselves. It’s an emotional release that aids us to find control in a chaotic world. Complaining is everywhere, and underneath it all is really just a need for human connection. We are hardwired and it is automatic to turn to complaining for connection. At times it may feel that complaining is our favorite hobby.
Here are some Powerful hacks to drop the Complaining, if you feel you are a chronic complainer here are few things that can help you to
- Understand your reasons why you complain
- Practice the Pause and take a deep breath
- Acceptance of the situation as it is
- Modify your Perspective
- Replace Complaining with Complimenting
- Make a gratitude list
- Jot down your Complaints
- Give yourself permission to vent out once in while
- Try the Rubber band technique to snap out
- Move from complaining to Action
Complaining will always be an easily available outlet.; the challenging part is taking up the responsibility for our complaints.. By complaining, we make ourselves the victims, and the more we self-victimize, the more we act the part. As a result, we get stuck on problems and don’t find solutions, preventing us from discovering and developing our full potential. There are ways to complain constructively. This is where we actually do something about what’s bothering us.
Hope this is helpful. If you have another query, please feel free to reach out to us on chat from Monday to Saturday between 10 am and 6 pm or leave us an offline message.
