Question : I have recently completed my 12th with 95% (Commerce stream) and some people are guiding me for CA and some for another courses. I am really confused, what to do?
Dear Teentalker,
Congratulations for scoring such great marks, you must be proud and so your family. This is very normal to feel confusion at this point for going ahead, almost all students feel the same. But I am sure few tips would help you to clear your path and focused thinking.
1.Continue with your current Stream: If you have interest in the same stream you have been performing well and the fact that you have scored high percentage says that you are good with your present subjects. But the point is if you are interested in same stream or not, but if you are then you must continue with same what you have studies in High school.
2.Take entrance Examinations: You my also sit for entrance examinations in the field of your interest. Every year thousands of students appear for entrance examinations to choose their field of interest which helps them to know what is their interest and what potential they possess to carry that particular field.
3.Change to new Stream: Many times our personal choices may not turn out to be good professional choices.Depending on your interest and aptitude you may go in for a different course after 12th and have a bright career. Just be careful about applying for a course as almost all the colleges prefer students with strong background in their individual subjects.
It is just a guess that you have commerce stream in your class 12 so, this is my responsibility to provide you with relevant information about college courses in commerce.
Commerce: CA is among the numerous career options in commerece after 12th where you learn to see if financial affairs of business and companies are in accordance with the laws set by Government authorities. You can also take up a (BBA/BBM/BMS management course after 12th and build a career as an investment banker with finance, brand manager with marketing or human resource manager.
You can take up economics and later specialize in indian Economics, ,Macroeconomics. Industrial economics, Banking Economics, international Trade, etc. Based on your personal interest and aptitude you can also go for journalism and Mass communication course, event management course and fashion design and technology course. Choosing Law might also be a good idea. One can join a 5 yrs LLM program after clearing CLAT.
Whatever you choose you must take care of your aptitude and interest. Hope this helps, should you have any other query do come online for chat between 11am-8pm or drop us an offline message.
